It is my intention to provide services that will assist you in your commitment to achieving improved personal functioning, successful relationships, affirmative self-image, enhanced mood, and/or the attainment of personal goals so you may experience your life more positively and fully.
Working toward these benefits, however, requires effort on your part. Psychotherapy requires your active involvement, honesty, and openness in order to change your thoughts, feelings, and/or behaviors. Change will sometimes be easy and swift, but more often it will be slow and even frustrating at times. You should understand that healing and growth is difficult, and some discomfort will likely be a part of your counseling progress.
We are partners in the therapeutic process. I am here to help you develop different perspectives on your situation and practice skills that will help you overcome obstacles. I will act as your supporter, guide, challenger, and sounding board as we work together to accomplish your aspirations.
I am a certified facilitator for Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) and Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM).
I have extensive experience in community outreach and education regarding suicide and a variety of mental health subjects. I am a consultant and annual presenter at various state-wide suicide awareness and prevention events. I have also presented information before many county, city, and private organizations regarding mental illnesses, treatments, suicide, and the stigmas surrounding each.
For speaking appointments, I research and present comprehensive, relevant mental health information that is focused to the engagement's mission and/or goal. I have created and presented specialized, mental health-oriented seminars for nurses, attorneys, inmates, minorities, and many more diversified groups.
Please contact me if you are interested in scheduling a training, consultation, or would like to arrange a speaking engagement/presentation.
